What The Dodge Challenger Brings To The Table For The 2021 Model Year

The latest generation of Challenger has helped Dodge climb to the top of the muscle car game in recent years. This is mostly due to the immense power found under the hood and the comfortable interior with modern amenities. Our team at Bergeron Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram can give you a comprehensive breakdown of what sets the Challenger apart from other muscle cars, and what Dodge has updated for the 2021 model year.

When most people think of the Dodge Challenger, they probably don't immediately think of how easy it is to drive. Dodge has gone to great lengths to make the Challenger a comfortable vehicle for people of all sizes. The interior is spacious, and Dodge has made great use of premium materials that other muscle car manufacturers have done their best to avoid. The end product is a muscle car with a driver-centric cockpit, but enough space to fit four adults comfortably.

If the Challenger is known for one thing, it is making an absurd amount of power, which many of our Westwego drivers appreciate. The Challenger can come with several different engine options, and each one excels in different situations. The base 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 puts down some decent power figures, and it is known for its reliability. The Pentastar makes 303 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque, which is more than you will find on most base powertrains. The next step up is the 375 horsepower 5.7-liter Hemi V8. It makes 410 pound-feet of torque.

The 372 horsepower Hemi V8 gets you over one hundred more horsepower on the 5.7-liter, and 65 more pound-feet of torque. The final engine that Dodge offers with the Challenger is the 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 found the SRT Hellcat. This engine made waves when it first came out, and it is still just as impressive today. The 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 makes 717 horsepower and 656 pound-feet of torque in its base configuration. This powertrain is a real monster to try to control, especially when you let it loose on the highways of New Orleans.

If you want even more power to zip around Kenner, you can upgrade to the SRT Hellcat Redeye, which Brings the power up to 797 horsepower and 707 pound-feet of torque. The Redeye lets the Challenger compete with most supercars power outputs. However, Dodge is not done with the 6.2-liter V8. New for 2021, the Challenger gets the Super Stock trim that brings the power to 807 horsepower.

Our team in the Metairie area can help you break down Dodge's lineup of Challengers by trim level. This will help you find the Challenger that has the power and amenities that you are looking for to match your unique Slidell lifestyle.
