Wiper Blades
Windshield wipers are generally pretty tough. But they are also subject to the ravages of moisture, dryness, salt in the air and the rain, and to the changes of temperature from day to night and throughout the seasons. These elements and conditions suck the elasticity and the resilience out of the ordinarily tough rubber your windshield wipers are made from.
When they lose their rubbery properties, they begin to become rigid and fragile. When this happens the rubber edge that will normally wick away water and debris with ease will begin to roll, crack, and flake away. Once that begins to happen, your wiper will soon wear down to the point that the metal arm that holds it begins to scrape against the glass.
